 The UTS App is an android mobile ticketing app introduced by Indian Railways to make unreserved train ticket bookings a hassle-free process. This app is designed to provide a more convenient and user-friendly way to book train tickets. In this article, we will discuss the features and services offered by the UTS App.

Who Can Use UTS On Mobile Application?

The UTS App service is exclusively available to people above the age of seventeen who have not been previously suspended or removed from the services by Indian Railways. By accepting the terms and conditions or using the service or website, the person agrees to abide by all the terms and conditions of the agreement.

Pre-requisites To Avail UTS On Mobile App Service

To avail of the UTS App service, the passenger must have a smartphone with good GPRS connectivity. For paperless mode of tickets, the smartphone should also be GPS enabled. The UTS App is presently available in Android, Windows, and iOS versions.

Registration Process

To use the UTS App service, the passenger needs to register through the app or the website. The registration process requires details such as Mobile Number, Name, Password, Gender, and Date of Birth. The mobile application sends an OTP to the mobile number specified against the USER ID field to ensure the validity of the mobile number. After successful registration, an SMS is sent to the user informing them about the successful registration. A zero-balance R-Wallet account is activated.

Login Process

After registration, the passenger needs to enter the credentials on the login page to enter the UTS App.

Services Offered By UTS On Mobile App

The UTS App offers a range of services to make the ticket booking process more convenient. Let's discuss each of them in detail.

Book Ticket

The UTS App offers different modes of ticket booking to suit the convenience of the passenger. The modes of ticket booking are:

Normal Booking (Journey and Return tickets)

This mode is suitable for booking journey and return tickets for a specific train.

Quick Booking (Journey and Return tickets)

This mode allows the passenger to book tickets quickly using their frequent travel routes.

Platform Ticket

This mode allows the passenger to book a platform ticket for a specific station.

Season Ticket

This mode allows the passenger to book a season ticket for a specific route.

QR Booking (Platform Tickets, Journey and Return Tickets)

This mode allows the passenger to book tickets using QR codes. The QR code is scanned by the ticket checker to validate the ticket.

Cancellation of Ticket

The UTS App allows passengers to cancel their paper tickets with booking amount greater than cancellation charges before printing the ticket. However, cancellation of paperless tickets is not allowed.

Booking History

The UTS App keeps a record of all the tickets booked by the passenger. This feature allows the passenger to check their booking history for reference purposes.

R-Wallet

The R-Wallet feature of the UTS App allows the passenger to manage their wallet balance, recharge the wallet, check the history of transactions and surrender the wallet.

Profile

The profile feature of the UTS App allows the passenger to make changes to their profile details such as the city, frequent travel route, journey details, password, handset request, personal details, and sync ticket.

Show Booked Ticket

The 'show ticket' feature of the UTS App allows the passenger to show the ticket to the TTE or TC. Offline mode is also available to show the paperless ticket if an internet connection is not available on the mobile.

Note

Paperless ticket booking is not allowed inside the train or within station premises. For booking paperless tickets, the user should be away from Station premises/Railway track.
